VIRTUAL ONE ON ONE TRAINING
This is a unique form of one on one support for your FileMaker needs. All you need is an internet connection and a telephone in order for us to work hand in hand. I use a screen sharing application called Yugma. It is totally browser based and we can share the same computer screen as we explore FileMaker together. The software allows us to shift control of the screen back and forth without a problem.

If you are interested in a one on one virtual session, send me an email at info@dwaynewright.com and we will schedule an appointment. I will then send you a link to the scheduled Yugma session. When we are ready to start the training, you click on the link in the email, give me a call and we can get started.

Wanting to know more about Yugma and how easy it is to do screen sharing using it? You can read upon it from the Yugma site and sign up for a no risk trial. I also wrote about it in a blog posting back in November of 2008 titled "Yugma, My Current Screen Sharing Software Of Choice".

Virtual One On One - Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

QUESTION:
I am very interested in using your support services. I suspect what I need to do will be able to be done in a single 30 minute session. I also like the way in which you offer the support (directly). It should aid me greatly in being able to work with you to make the program work as intended. What time of day do you start and what steps do I need to do to get started?

ANSWER: Well, I’m currently residing in the greater Seattle area, so I’m on Pacific Standard time. So it looks like you are just one hour ahead of me. I work from an office in my home and tend to get into the office by 6 AM most days. I can start taking virtual one on one calls about 8 AM PST.

I have a number of customers that prefer to have weekend appointments because they know they won’t be interrupted with other business tasks during the session. So that is definitely an option for you, if you are interested.

Because I work most weekends, there are times during the work week that I take off (particularly in the summer months). So it is possible to have a same day appointment but generally I like to schedule something at least one day in advance. If you have an immediate need, by all means give me a call or send an email. I don’t mind at all.

If you have a chance to send me some background on what you want to cover, I’ll certainly look at it. I won’t spend too much time on it but sometimes it is great to get familiar with the content we are going to discuss first.

I do send out a timecard for all my virtual one on one sessions. My timecards show the session date, start time, end time and duration. It also shows how much you paid, any credit you might have or any balance due. This is great for the Virtual One On One 6 Pack customers because they always see how much reserve they have in the tank.

I tend to use Yugma (yugma.com) as the screen sharing service. It allows for use to share views, change presenters, share screen control and other great options. It is compatible with both Windows and Mac users. Some Leopard Macintosh users prefer to us iChat and that is certainly an option for us as well.
