MY FILEMAKER BLOG SERIES
Back in the summer of 2007, I felt a little itchy to do some writing again. I had self published some FileMaker guides between 2003 and 2005. The sum total of the content was well over 700 pages and I thought about revising them (because all the content was focused on FileMaker 6). However, that just seemed too much to take on and wanted something with more instant sense of accomplishment. I stumbled upon blogging and decided to give it a try with the FileMaker Calculation Explored blog.
|
| As you can see, I fell in love with daily publishing my thoughts and discoveries about FileMaker Pro design. I like keeping track of my progress and it continues to motivate me to strech myself. By the start of 2009, I have already rewritten most of my previously published guide content. So most of the content now is fresh stuff from the top of my noggin. Please be my guest in checking them out and feel free to give me your feedback. By the way, you can even subscribe to each of the blogs to see each update via a news reader like Google Reader. |

WHAT SOME READERS ARE SAYING!
I'm getting some great feedback from readers of my blogs and I am excited to share a few of their comments with you.
Many THANKS for the great posts, tips/tricks and example files on your website. Truly helpful. (I am a fast catch-on beginner/intermediate FM "developer" [ in quotes because I only started developing for our in-house needs ]) |
|
Thank you for your concise many-to-many blog. You wrote it last year but I've only just started thinking about many-to-many things, so I've just found it!
Thank you again - you have given me a billion new ideas. |
|
I really enjoy reading your blogs, and can't wait to see that video training product that you mentioned! Keep us posted! |
Exactly what I needed for my project. This marks probably the 5th time I've come to your site with a problem and found a solution within minutes. |
|
I just want to tell you how impressed I am with your FileMaker knowledge. I'm new to FileMaker, and I will definitely contact you in the future for your service. Thank you for your FileMaker 6 videos. I have FileMaker 9 Advance version, but still there is a lot to learn from these videos. |
|
A couple things—you are awesome! I was having trouble with a few things and I googled and both times your website hit first and helped me find the answer I needed (one was a reference to a custom function and the other was a reference for plugins). Sweet! And thank you!

I don't normally email people to give them kudos for their blog/website but I really have to hand it to you, you provide some really excellent content. I just started working with filemaker a couple months ago when a company hired me to do tech support support and development and since then I learned so much. The kind of resources your provide really give me an insight to how top tier FM professionals approach this platform. |

Thank you so much for this quick and useful information!!!
Another step forwards in this FileMaker adventure. |

We have under taken what we thought would be a simple Filemaker project, and have worked to learn "howto" many things. We have been thankful for all the info on using Filemaker and resources especially like your website that help us find solutions. A lot of our issues surround our inexperience. |
Thanks for the hint from your FileMaker Blog about using the “Set Variable” in the “Export Field Contents” script. It will save me hours of manual labor.
