FILEMAKER 6 EXPORTING FIELD LABELS

FileMaker doesn't allow you to export field label names as part of it's exported text data.

In this example, we show you a way to export from FileMaker and have the first row of the export be the field names. This technique will only export the field labels for the fields defined as text. So it is not perfect but it may be better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick.

The technique is driven by a scripted export. We actually create a field, set the fields information equal to the field name, sort the found set so the labels record is at the top, perform the export and then delete the label field.
